Today Bela really did have her 3-in-1 procedure which actually turned out to be 4-in-1. In addition to a liver biopsy, a bone marrow biopsy and a central line placement, she also had a lumbar puncture, or spinal tap. The results will all be in no earlier than Monday, probably. She did very well and is back in her room on the awesome Hem/Onc floor where Beto is spending the night. She should sleep well since she still has the anesthesia in her system. The area on her chest around the central line was a little swollen afterwards today but they did more X-rays and it showed that the line was pushing on an aortic valve, which they didn't seem too concerned about, I guess it will remedy itself. It was looking less swollen a bit when I left tonight.
Last night our very good friend Christa spent the night and did amazing! She was still there at 9:15 this morning when we arrived. We all rushed there because they originally told us she'd be going in at 10. So we waited. Then around 11 they said it would happen earlier than planned, so I asked, "So around what time is that?" and they said "2". Hmmm....ok. I'm just like, WHATEVER (because really she was scheduled for YESTERDAY). So about 5 minutes later as I'm walking down to get a snack the nurse practitioner actually scheduled to perform the bone marrow biopsy says they're planning for 11:30. So we rush to get some food. Anywho, long story short, she didn't go in for surgery until 1:15pm. And even then when we arrived there was some confusion about what procedures they'd actually be doing and which doctors would be doing them. I know this makes the hospital sound really bad but we've not had a bad experience there. The scheduling dept. and the communication between departments leaves much to be desired, but the important thing is she did well and we are looking forward to good results on Monday. So here are some pictures from today...

The epitome of the care she always receives. She only has one nurse scheduled with her at all times, but they can't help themselves. |

But then we let her eat. Eess ok |
So glad she had her procedure(s) and did well. We are praying for some miraculous healing for beautiful Bela! I absolutely love the pictures of her with her Daddy! The one of her smiling at him is so precious! Praying daily for all of you. Sending our love and prayers and hugs!

GURL . . . you make me laugh. You are a joy in the middle of a lack of internet. It's such a downer to wait for a page to load for 45 minutes and then it all comes crashing down and I see nothing. Soooooooo . . . when something finally, completely and successfully loads, it's a double bummer when it's not even interesting for the eyes and intellect. BUT YOUR BLOG??????? Beautiful, gorgeous, which I was there! Yeah, so wish I was there.
