Just some random pictures

"I'm like Chip 'n Dale!" (The cartoon!)

Santi made up his own gang with Jazzmin. These are their signs.

Just found these. I liked them. So here they are.

That awkward moment when people fall asleep on you and you're trapped.

YOU ARE INVITED!!!

Eventbrite - Bela's Ball

Click on the above link to prepay tickets for our fundraising event.

It's going to be Saturday night December 8 at 7pm at the Long Beach Church of Christ at 3707 Atlantic Ave.

Beto and I are training for a half marathon which takes place on January 20, 2013 with Team in Training to raise money for the Leukemia/Lymphoma Society.

This will be our biggest fundraising effort!

Please plan to come and bring as many people/friends/family members/spouses/lovers/exes/enemies as possible!  The goal is to find a cure for this bloody cancer ( no pun intended).

There will be a silent auction with such items as salon gift certificates, Tea House gift certificates, baby bedding, and an hour private airplane ride over southern California, and much more!

There will be entertainment, food, fun, Leukemia survivors, and more!!! All in honor of our daughter Bela and friend Diane, both battling Leukemia right now.

What do you mean it wasn't decaf?!

"Ah...this is the life"

"Seriously Dad? I'm just layin here"
We're still just waiting....Bela's blood numbers have gone pretty far down so now we're just waiting to see how soon she can get healthy again...healthy enough to shoot her up with chemo for the third time.  She's doing well still...eating, sleeping, playing.  She had a LOT of visitors last week! I got a whole afternoon off one day when she had 5 visitors! Thanks to you ladies who took care of her! I spent my afternoon getting sponsors for our event to raise money for the Leukemia/Lymphoma Society(LLS).  It'll be December 8 at 7pm at the Long beach Church of Christ, 3707 atlantic Ave.  If you're reading this, you're invited, and bring as many people as you can! We're trying to raise $10,000 together for LLS.   There'll be a silent auction, entertainment, food, a photo booth, a raffle, Leukemia survivors, and more! SAVE THE DATE!!! Bring cash and/or your check book and come prepared to cross some Christmas gifts off your list, all for a great cause! Check out the LLS website here for more info:

Bela: LIVE and Unplugged

Bela is doing well. When I came in today she was sitting up in her therapy chair, playing. I didn't notice until I took her out that she wasn't hooked up to anything!!! What a wonderful feeling! We still can't leave the room yet but she really enjoys looking out the window and standing in the doorway to "people watch."  We are just waiting for her blood counts to tank and then go back up so she can start her third round of chemo. That will probably be another few weeks.  She is very happy, but she gets very angry when put on her belly. ONe of the nurses today mentioned how she needs to learn to self-soothe so that when we bring her home we're not having to hold her every second of the day, which is what she's used to right now. If we're not there we hear later about how many grandparent volunteers and nurses hold her if she starts to cry. I don't know, i think i'll be so happy when she gets home I won't want to put her down anyways!!! Sorry for not updating and for no pictures. It's been "one of those" weeks.
Thank you so much for all of your continuous prayers! Keep it up please. We still are praying for protection over her heart since the chemo drugs can cause longterm damage, and praying that she "sails" through the next two chemos kind of like she did this second time.

Best long life friend KT got to meet Bela.

Your day is not complete without a visit from a princess!

When she sits around the house, she really sits around!

Team Bela walking team. Kim and Micah Lambert and their friend Laura and our neighbor Bronwyn met us down at the Queen Mary for the event.

Tummy time

Getting weighed

Another surprise waiting for us when we came in to see Bela this morning.

My personal favorite, and yes, that is a turd, not chocolate froyo.

The play rings were also a gift along with the onesies.

Bela's doing well, exactly where she needs to be in all ways
Thanks so much for all of your prayers!!! We just continue to pray continued protection on her body, that the chemo doesn't affect her heart, etc. The walk for the hospital on Sunday was a great fun success!!! Thanks to all who donated and to our friends and family that walked with us.
